Summary: The Manufacturing Engineer – New Model Introduction role in Woking involves supporting the introduction of new vehicle models, ensuring a smooth transition from concept to production. Key Responsibilities:

  • Create and develop deliverables for new model introductions, including vehicle assembly concepts, process sequencing, and documentation.
  • Support the transition of new models from the virtual environment to physical validation and delivery.
  • Develop and implement process traceability methodologies.
  • Lead PFMEA development and contribute to driving best practices for improving Right First Time (RFT) delivery.
  • Manage the Hours Per Car (HPC) data, ensuring plant efficiency and output targets are met.
  • Collaborate with Engineering and Operations teams to identify and resolve production bottlenecks.
  • Conduct line balancing, running time & motion studies across the plant.
  • Support facility layout design, ensuring alignment with the new model and overall production plan.
  • Drive the design of new or amended layouts and material flow for new models.
  • Support cross-functional activities, including Concept/Design Reviews, Engineering Release Delivery, and DFMEA.

Key Skills:

  • A degree in Mechanical/Automotive Engineering or equivalent experience in a similar role.
  • Experience in the planning and execution of new vehicle programs.
  • Familiarity with complex vehicle systems and vehicle assembly processes, particularly trim and final processes, and end-of-line vehicle processing.
  • Knowledge of assembly equipment specification and procurement.
  • Experience in identifying resolutions for product-related issues while meeting quality targets.
  • Proven ability to implement safe working practices.
