Summary: The Manufacturing Engineer role is a 12-month contract based in Stevenage, focusing on supporting the manufacturing process within a leading defence and aerospace company. The position requires expertise in manufacturing instructions, tooling design, and technical problem resolution, with a strong emphasis on SAP experience. Candidates should possess relevant qualifications and experience in engineering and manufacturing processes. This role offers an opportunity for professional growth within a dynamic industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Compilation and update of Manufacturing Instructions.
  • Design, Commissioning, and proving of associated tooling.
  • Support the industrial validation process through the use of FMEA's, FAI's etc.
  • Resolution of technical problems that may arise during the manufacturing process.
  • Route card changes as a result of rework activities.
  • Management of Configuration Control by the embodiment of Design Modifications into the Manufacturing Instructions.
  • Support to the Non-Conformance Process using SAP.

Key Skills:

  • Formal technical Engineering/Craft Apprenticeship to NVQ Level 3/TR23/TR21, with a Formal further education certificate to HNC or equivalent in a relevant subject.
  • SAP experience.
  • The ability to interpret Design Drawings with a view to producing Manufacturing Build Instructions.
  • Experience in Electronic subassembly manufacture through to System level builds.
  • Experience and knowledge of the assembly process for small/miniature Electro-Mechanical Actuation Systems.
  • Manual handling training.
  • ESD training.
