Summary: The Manufacturing Engineer role at a leading Defence Organisation in Stevenage involves ensuring efficient product assembly within a hybrid working environment. The position requires a strong background in manufacturing processes and engineering, with responsibilities including the creation of manufacturing instructions and problem resolution during production. Candidates must possess relevant qualifications and experience in engineering disciplines, particularly in assembly and integration. This is an initial 12-month contract with potential for extension.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure products are built efficiently and within budget.
- Compile and update Manufacturing Instructions.
- Design, commission, and prove associated tooling.
- Support the industrial validation process using FMEA's and FAI's.
- Resolve technical problems during the manufacturing process.
- Manage configuration control by implementing design modifications into manufacturing instructions.
- Support the Non-Conformance Process using SAP.
Key Skills:
- Formal technical Engineering/Craft Apprenticeship to NVQ Level 3/TR23/TR21 and level 3 (ONC) or equivalent HNC certificate.
- 5 years' experience within an engineering discipline.
- Ability to interpret design drawings for manufacturing build instructions.
- Experience in Electronic Sub Assembly manufacture and system-level builds.
- Knowledge of assembly processes for small/miniature Electro-Mechanical Actuation Systems.
- Understanding of customer requirements and company processes.
