Summary: The Manufacturing Engineer role at an automotive component manufacturer involves providing engineering support to production lines, focusing on exterior or interior trim products. The position requires planning and implementing new products, managing suppliers, and supporting quality assurance processes. This is an 18-month fixed-term contract reporting to the Operations Manager. The ideal candidate should have a degree in a mechanical or manufacturing discipline or significant automotive experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and implement new products and changes to the manufacturing processes.
- Manage suppliers.
- Manage project and timing of complex assembly systems.
- Support the quality department in close out of customer concerns through 8D.
- Complete PFMEA's, process flows and standard operating instructions.
- Generate layout and process flows.
Key Skills:
- Educated to degree level in a mechanical or manufacturing discipline or significant experience in first tier automotive.
- Experience working in fast-paced manufacturing environments.
- Exposure to manufacturing lines highly reliant on complex IT systems.
- Experience in a just in time (JIT) environment.
