Summary: The role of Manufacturing Engineer involves providing engineering support to production lines in an automotive component manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate should possess automotive manufacturing experience, particularly with trim products, and will be responsible for planning new products, managing suppliers, and supporting quality assurance processes. This position is a fixed-term contract lasting 18 months, reporting to the Operations Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and implement new products and changes to the manufacturing processes.
- Manage suppliers.
- Manage project and timing of complex assembly systems.
- Support the quality department in close out of customer concerns through 8D.
- Complete PFMEA's, process flows and standard operating instructions.
- Generate layout and process flows.
Key Skills:
- Educated to degree level in a mechanical or manufacturing discipline or significant experience in first tier automotive.
- Experience working in fast-paced manufacturing environments.
- Exposure to manufacturing lines highly reliant on complex IT systems.
- Experience in a just in time (JIT) environment.
