Summary: The Manufacturing Engineer role involves leading CAPEX investment projects and driving Lean initiatives within a specialist team at a cutting-edge manufacturing facility in Rugby. The position focuses on enhancing operational efficiency and delivering measurable improvements across high-value engineering projects. Candidates will engage with senior stakeholders and mentor junior engineers while optimizing production workflows. Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead CAPEX investment projects from concept and cost justification through to installation and handover
  • Drive Lean / Kaizen initiatives to improve efficiency, cost, and delivery performance
  • Plan and coordinate installation, commissioning, and manufacturing readiness activities
  • Analyse workflows, layouts, and space utilisation to optimise production
  • Present improvement initiatives and business cases to senior stakeholders
  • Track and deliver measurable cost savings and performance improvements
  • Mentor and develop junior engineers within the team
  • Work cross-functionally to ensure successful project delivery

Key Skills:

  • Strong background in Lean Manufacturing / Continuous Improvement leadership
  • Proven experience delivering engineering or manufacturing improvement projects
  • Ability to lead change and drive cultural transformation
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and leadership skills
  • Experience within a complex manufacturing environment
  • CAD experience (ideally Creo) - ability to design tooling concepts
  • Lean qualifications (Six Sigma, Kaizen, etc.)
  • Experience with CAPEX project delivery
  • Broad understanding of manufacturing processes
