Summary: The Manufacturing Engineer role involves leading CAPEX investment projects and driving Lean initiatives within a specialist team at a cutting-edge manufacturing facility in Rugby. Candidates will engage with senior stakeholders and mentor junior engineers while optimizing production workflows. Key Responsibilities:
- Lead CAPEX investment projects from concept and cost justification through to installation and handover
- Drive Lean / Kaizen initiatives to improve efficiency, cost, and delivery performance
- Plan and coordinate installation, commissioning, and manufacturing readiness activities
- Analyse workflows, layouts, and space utilisation to optimise production
- Present improvement initiatives and business cases to senior stakeholders
- Track and deliver measurable cost savings and performance improvements
- Mentor and develop junior engineers within the team
- Work cross-functionally to ensure successful project delivery
Key Skills:
- Strong background in Lean Manufacturing / Continuous Improvement leadership
- Proven experience delivering engineering or manufacturing improvement projects
- Ability to lead change and drive cultural transformation
- Strong stakeholder engagement and leadership skills
- Experience within a complex manufacturing environment
- CAD experience (ideally Creo) - ability to design tooling concepts
- Lean qualifications (Six Sigma, Kaizen, etc.)
- Experience with CAPEX project delivery
- Broad understanding of manufacturing processes
