Summary: The Manufacturing Engineer role in Portsmouth involves planning and designing manufacturing processes in an industrial setting using LEAN principles. Key Responsibilities:

• Review existing production cells and implement changes to improve manpower utilization.
• Provide support to the manufacturing cells and drive continuous improvement.
• Provide solutions/improvements to address HSE issues.
• Provide technical/process support to Engineering Technicians.
• Ensure all new or modified processes, equipment, and materials comply with UK Health and Safety regulations and Company Procedures.
• Complete process, equipment, and ergonomic risk assessments where necessary.
• Assist the Technician team in determining the correct TPM activities and schedules.
• Procure new or enhance existing equipment through in-house modifications or third-party solutions.

Key Skills:

• 3 years+ experience in Manufacturing Engineering or a related discipline.
• HNC or equivalent in an Engineering discipline, preferably Mechanical and Production Engineering, or recognized time-served apprenticeship.
• Six Sigma Green Belt qualification (or practical application) is desirable.
• Experience in a medium to high volume production environment is essential.
• Proven working knowledge of assembly automation including PLCs is desirable.
• Proven experience in managing projects is essential.
• Previous experience of managing reporting staff is desirable.
• Can-do attitude and a team player.
• Proactive in HSE.
• Fluency in English language (written & verbal) is essential.
