Summary: The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for supporting and enhancing production processes in a high-tech manufacturing environment, ensuring operational continuity, product quality, and process efficiency. This role involves collaboration with various teams to minimize production disturbances and implement improvements. The engineer will also act as a subject matter expert during audits and train staff on processes. A strong analytical mindset and hands-on approach are essential for success in this position.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support and execute process validation activities
  • Minimize production disturbances and maximize yield in close collaboration with team leads, troubleshooters, and development teams
  • Ensure business continuity by replacing or upgrading critical equipment and processes
  • Act as a subject matter expert during internal and external audits
  • Develop and maintain work instructions, and ensure proper use of equipment, tooling, and processes
  • Train and guide operators and technical staff on processes and procedures
  • Identify and implement structural improvements using problem-solving methodologies such as Problem Reports (PR) and 8D
  • Manage and implement product changes through lifecycle management and Modify Launched Design processes
  • Provide support for CAPA (Corrective and Preventive Actions) activities
  • Lead escalations related to production issues and customer complaints, collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders when required
  • Support New Product Introduction (NPI) projects and industrialization activities
  • Perform root cause analysis on Defect on Arrival (DEFOA) and Missing on Arrival (MOA) issues and implement sustainable solutions
  • Analyze product and process performance data using methodologies such as Six Sigma and Statistical Process Control (SPC)
  • Contribute to and maintain NPI project planning
  • Support prototype and trial production within NPI processes
  • Initiate and lead continuous improvement projects to enhance efficiency, product quality, and testing processes (Green Belt level)
  • Provide feedback to industrialization teams to improve ways of working

Key Skills:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Industrial Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Applied Physics, Mechatronics, or a related field
  • At least 2 years of experience in manufacturing or engineering within a high-tech industry
  • Hands-on mindset with strong attention to detail and documentation skills
  • Proactive, independent, and able to take ownership, including effective stakeholder management
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and summarize complex data
  • Result- and quality-driven approach
  • Experience with Six Sigma methodologies (Green Belt preferred)
  • Familiarity with systems such as SAP (MES) and Windchill is an advantage
  • Basic knowledge of Operational Technology (OT) and Information Technology (IT)
  • Experience with quality systems and standards (e.g. ISO 9001, ISO 13485, FDA, FMEA, 8D, SPC) is preferred
  • Strong communication skills in English; Dutch is a plus
  • Comfortable communicating across all levels, from shop floor operators to engineers and management

You will be part of a Manufacturing Engineering team operating within a complex, high-tech production environment. The scope includes multiple product and service domains such as advanced imaging systems, service and repair operations, component manufacturing, refurbishment, and field analysis.

You will collaborate closely with operations, quality, and development teams in a multidisciplinary setting.

Your Profile
