Summary: The Manufacturing Engineer role at a Derby facility involves contributing to the design, development, and optimization of aerospace components. Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and continuously improve manufacturing processes for aerospace components.
  • Collaborate with design, quality, and production teams to ensure manufacturability, efficiency, and compliance with aerospace standards.
  • Support new product introduction (NPI) and technology transfers into production.
  • Drive root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for process-related issues.
  • Create and maintain work instructions, process flows, and documentation in accordance with AS9100 and other regulatory standards.
  • Lead or support cost reduction, yield improvement, and automation initiatives.

Key Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Aerospace Engineering, or related discipline.
  • Proven experience in a Manufacturing Engineer, ideally within the aerospace or precision engineering sector.
  • Strong understanding of machining, assembly, and special processes used in aerospace component production.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Familiarity with CAD/CAM software and ERP/MRP systems.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and project management skills.
  • Experience working within an AS9100-certified environment.
  • Familiarity with APQP, PPAP, FMEA, and SPC techniques (Desirable).
  • Chartered Engineer status or working towards professional registration (Desirable).
