Acquire a comprehensive understanding of production and process engineering principles. Oversee the design of specialized tooling for manufacturing processes and manage the control of both existing and new tooling drawings. Identify, project manage, and implement process improvements within the designated area and, when necessary, across the factory. Demonstrate proficiency in SolidWorks for creating stage drawings and designing fixtures. Utilize SAP effectively to create and edit Bills of Materials (BOMs), routes, Work Centre’s, and time records. Possess knowledge and experience in CAM for milling and turning operations, ranging from 3-axis to 5-axis, with a preference for Mastercam experience. Employ modern manufacturing methodologies, including value stream mapping, Continuous Improvement (CI), 5S, Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA), lean manufacturing, and the implementation of Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) to enhance machinery process capability. Develop Manufacturing and Assembly Procedures, along with standard work instructions, to support manufacturing areas by creating new documents and updating existing ones. Provide technical support to Engineering, Quality, and manufacturing cells to resolve production issues with minimal disruption to operations. Identify the most cost-effective manufacturing methods to reduce expenses through investments in capital equipment and process development, both internally and with suppliers. Enhance manufacturing efficiency by analysing and planning workflows, space requirements, and equipment layouts. Develop manufacturing processes by studying product requirements, researching, designing, modifying, and testing manufacturing methods and equipment, and collaborating with equipment vendors. Provide manufacturing decision-making insights through Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) by calculating production, labour, and material costs; reviewing production schedules; and estimating future requirements and capital expenditure (Capex). Establish standard costings and conduct work measurement to determine process times. Utilize the company’s business system to develop and manage product routings for new and existing parts, including creating rework routing in SAP. Participate in New Product Introduction (NPI) projects to advocate for Design for Manufacturing (DFM) principles, agree on manufacturing methods for hardware, and develop new manufacturing techniques for innovative product designs as needed.
