Summary: The Manufacturing Engineer role involves providing technical support to operations and executing manufacturing engineering activities to enhance and maintain manufacturing processes. The position is focused on ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards while driving continuous improvement in manufacturing capabilities. This is a 12-month contract based in Bristol for a client specializing in advanced technologies for sustainable power solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance with Health, Safety & Environmental Standards and the Zero Harm programme.
- Maintain product safety by ensuring manufacturing processes meet design specifications.
- Drive a culture of zero defects and ensure compliance with relevant policies and standards.
- Identify and develop opportunities for improved manufacturing processes and technologies.
- Plan and manage activities, including schedules, resources, and costs, while communicating status to stakeholders.
- Develop and continuously improve manufacturing processes and digital systems.
- Collaborate with teams to ensure understanding of technical aspects of manufacturing processes.
- Provide coaching and technical support to others and develop external relationships with partners and suppliers.
Key Skills:
- Professionally Qualified Engineer (minimum HND or equivalent).
- Recognized national or international engineering accreditation (e.g., IEng or CEng).
- General understanding of relevant manufacturing processes.
- Awareness of Manufacturing Systems and enabling software tools.
- Understanding of Manufacturing Engineering processes.
- Ability to analyze data for process improvement.
- Strong planning and project management skills.
- Effective collaboration and knowledge-sharing abilities.
