Summary: Our client, a prominent Aerospace and Defence supplier, is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer for a contract role at their Bolton site. The position requires sole British nationality and eligibility for SC Clearance, with an initial contract duration of 12 months. The role is fully onsite and offers a pay rate of £32-£35 per hour through an umbrella company, classified as inside IR35.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure efficient and budget-compliant product assembly within the unit & missile assembly manufacturing facility.
  • Support multi-project manufacturing activities as a key member of the Manufacturing Engineering team.
  • Compile and update Manufacturing Instructions.
  • Design, commission, and prove associated tooling.
  • Support the industrial validation process using FMEA's, FAI's, etc.
  • Resolve technical problems arising during the manufacturing process.
  • Implement route card changes due to rework activities.
  • Manage Configuration Control by incorporating Design Modifications into Manufacturing Instructions.
  • Assist in the Non Conformance Process using SAP.

Key Skills:

  • Formal technical Engineering/Craft Apprenticeship to NVQ Level 3/TR23/TR21 and level 3 (ONC) OR HNC or equivalent certificate with engineering experience.
  • 5 years' experience within an engineering discipline.
  • Ability to interpret Design Drawings for producing Manufacturing Build Instructions for skilled and semi-skilled operators.
  • Experience in Electronic Sub Assembly manufacture through to System level builds.
  • Knowledge of assembly processes for small/miniature Electro-Mechanical Actuation Systems.
  • Ability to work within and contribute to a team environment.
  • Recognize and understand customer requirements and respond accordingly.
  • Understand and adhere to Company Processes and Procedures.
  • Effective communication skills within the working group and at various organizational levels.

Due to the nature of the role, applicants must hold the sole British nationality and be eligible to obtain full SC Clearance, however can start on base line clearance. 12-month initial contract. Fully onsite in Bolton. 32-35 p/h Umbrella, inside IR35 Responsibilities: As a Manufacturing Engineer within the unit & missile assembly manufacturing facility your focus will be to ensure that our products are built efficiently and to budget.
