Summary: The role of Manufacturing Engineer at TXM involves working on a project in Hampshire for over 18 months, focusing on welding processes. Key Responsibilities:

  • Technical review of design drawings and standards to mobilise new projects
  • Creation, accuracy, and maintenance of manufacturing Bill of Materials (MBOMs), process routings, and SOPs
  • Experience in creating weld documentation such as weld maps and annotated weld drawings
  • Creation of data for process master to identify job times and manning requirements
  • Layout of workstations including suitable storage for parts and tools
  • Design and acquisition of jigs and fixtures
  • Specification and evaluation of production tools
  • Understand and adhere to all relevant process maps and create process maps when gaps are identified
  • Maintenance of accurate on-system information to support day-to-day business operations
  • Provide technical support to production personnel to ensure technical specifications are achieved
  • Support production in creating lesson plans
  • Cradle to grave responsibility for the implementation of design changes
  • Support all departments to achieve business objectives and participate in problem-solving activities
  • Participate or lead risk assessments for all tasks and processes
  • Work analysis, method study, and labour utilisation analysis including Kaizen activities
  • Evaluation and justification of capital investment projects
  • Support internal & external audits as required
  • Identification of next generation equipment and methods for improvements
  • Promote best practices and safe working procedures
  • Support ad hoc development projects throughout the business
  • Provide industrial engineering support to other departments

Are you a Manufacturing Engineer looking for your next opportunity? Here at TXM we have an opportunity for 2 Engineers working in Hampshire on a project for over 18 months.

Location: Eastleigh, Hampshire.

Pay: £471.70 daily.

Duration: £18 months+

Description: Manufacturing Engineer (Weld)

Core responsibilities:

  • Technical review of design drawings and standards, to understand existing projects and to mobilise new projects
  • Creation, accuracy and maintenance of manufacturing Bill of Materials (MBOM’s), process routings, SOPs
  • Experience of creating weld documentation such as weld maps, annotated weld drawings,
  • Creation of data for the process master to identify job times and manning requirements
  • Layout of the work station including suitable storage for parts and tools
  • Design and acquisition of jigs and fixtures
  • Specification and evaluation of production tools
  • Understand and adhere to all relevant process maps and create process maps when gaps identified
  • Maintenance of accurate on-system information to support the day-to-day running of the business (this could include SAP, Windchill, SharePoint or other future system as needed)
  • Provide technical support to all production personnel to ensure that technical specifications are achieved with the core competencies, MBOM, SOPs, MICs, tooling and equipment provided.
  • Support production to create lesson plans
  • Cradle to grave responsibility for the implementation of design changes
  • Support all departments to achieve business objectives and actively participate or lead practical problem solving activities
  • Participate or lead risk assessment for all tasks and processes
  • Work analysis, method study and labour utilisation analysis including Kaizen activities, DFM/DFA, PFMEA
  • Evaluation and justification of capital investment projects
  • Support all internal & external audits as required
  • Identification of next generation equipment and methods to make improvements to Quality, Cost and Delivery of projects.
  • Promote best practice and safe working procedures
  • Support ad hoc development projects throughout the business
  • Provide industrial engineering support to other departments

  • Experience of working in a rail depot environment
