Summary: The Manufacturing Controls Engineer role is focused on enhancing the reliability and performance of production systems within a busy manufacturing environment. The position requires strong Siemens PLC expertise and involves diagnosing issues, uplifting legacy control systems, and ensuring safe operations. The engineer will work as part of a 7-person shift team, contributing to the continuous improvement of automated assembly and manufacturing assets. This is a fully site-based position with an 18-month contract that may extend.
Key Responsibilities:
- Diagnose and resolve production issues using Siemens PLC/HMI software.
- Uplift and standardise Legacy assets using Siemens and Mitsubishi PLC software.
- Support maintenance teams with fault-finding and systems troubleshooting.
- Deliver safe and compliant improvements to automated equipment and processes.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure effective system performance.
Key Skills:
- Strong background in systems diagnostics, fault finding, and controls troubleshooting.
- Hands-on experience with Siemens PLC/HMI (S7 essential).
- Experience upgrading or standardising assets using Siemens/Mitsubishi PLC platforms.
- Ideally from a maintenance or automation engineering environment.
- Automotive or complex production/assembly experience highly advantageous.
