Summary: Our client, a leader in the Defence & Security sector, is seeking a Manufacturing Controller for a 12-month contract role in Stevenage. The position involves managing stores and inventory within a manufacturing environment, ensuring efficient loading and monitoring of work packages to meet delivery schedules. The ideal candidate will have experience in manufacturing control and inventory management. This role requires a proactive approach and the ability to work independently.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Stock control and storekeeping, including shelf life management
  • Loading manufacturing cells with requisite jobs according to planned lead and cycle times
  • Packing, receiving, and issuing tooling
  • Updating computer records
  • Performing kitting activities
  • Loading and unloading of lorries

Key Skills:

  • Experience in a stores or manufacturing control environment
  • Ability to follow instructions
  • Willingness to work flexible shift patterns
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Capability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Proactive and flexible approach
  • Manual handling training
  • Lifting & slinging training, including overhead cranes
  • ESD training
  • PC skills, including Excel
