Summary: The role of Manual Test Engineer requires an experienced professional to support testing activities within a complex and secure government program. The position involves both on-site and remote work, with a strong preference for candidates experienced in Legacy or Mainframe environments. SC Clearance is mandatory for this role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement test solutions, including building new approaches from scratch
- Apply structured and risk-based testing methodologies
- Complete test design, analysis, preparation, and hands-on execution
- Use recognised test design techniques to ensure comprehensive test coverage
- Create and manage test data, including database knowledge and test data preparation
- Provide accurate estimates and impact assessments for planned work
- Produce clear, concise test progress and status reports
- Perform testing across Unit, System, Functional, Integration and Non-Functional areas (performance, accessibility, security)
- Support wider engineering activities including dependency upgrades, configuration management, application support and pair programming
- Constructively challenge technical solutions and approaches across the delivery lifecycle
