Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement effective manual test solutions, often from the ground up, using industry best practices
  • Contribute to and apply structured testing approaches and risk-based testing methodologies
  • Support the test strategy by providing input into test planning and scope
  • Undertake comprehensive test design, analysis, preparation, and execution
  • Apply appropriate test design techniques and perform strong test analysis
  • Develop, manage, and maintain test data with a sound understanding of databases and data structures
  • Provide impact assessments and time estimates for test tasks and deliverables
  • Produce accurate test progress reports and maintain quality documentation throughout the project
  • Demonstrate knowledge of different testing levels (Unit, System, Functional, Integration), including Non-Functional Testing such as performance, accessibility, and security testing
  • Support wider engineering functions such as application development, environment configuration, and upgrades
  • Constructively challenge requirements and proposed solutions across the delivery lifecycle

Key Skills:

  • Minimum of 3 years’ hands-on experience in Manual Testing roles
  • Strong understanding of Manual Testing best practices and structured testing methodologies
  • Proven experience in test analysis, test design, and test data preparation
  • Solid background in test execution across different levels and environments
  • Experience working in a collaborative, multi-disciplinary team environment
  • Excellent analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities
  • Confident communication skills and the ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders

This is initially a 6-month contract with the potential to extend and will be a hybrid role based in Telford. Our client is seeking a Manual Test Analyst to join an established programme, collaborating with a skilled delivery team and stakeholders from across government. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to a meaningful digital transformation programme that directly impacts public services. As a Manual Test Analyst, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and executing structured testing approaches to ensure high-quality software delivery.
