Summary: The Software QA Tester role focuses on ensuring the delivery of high-quality mobile applications through rigorous manual testing, with some automation experience preferred. The position is within a leading global technology consultancy that emphasizes collaboration and customer-centric solutions. The tester will engage in exploratory, in-sprint, and regression testing throughout the development life cycle. This hybrid role requires occasional on-site presence in Bristol.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manual Testing: Execute detailed manual testing of mobile applications to ensure product quality across features and functionality.
  • Application Testing: While automation experience is needed, the primary responsibility lies in manual testing to identify bugs and ensure a seamless user experience.
  • Exploratory Testing: Identify defects and usability issues through exploratory testing practices.
  • In-Sprint Testing: Collaborate closely with development teams to test features as they are being built, catching issues early in the sprint cycle.
  • Regression Testing: Conduct thorough regression testing to validate app stability during release cycles.
  • Bug Reporting: Accurately log and track bugs in collaboration with developers to resolve issues efficiently.
  • Collaboration: Work alongside software developers and product teams to provide feedback and insights that improve the user experience.
  • Test Case Creation: Assist in creating and maintaining comprehensive test cases for features and functionality.
  • Documentation: Maintain detailed records of testing processes, results, and defect tracking.

Key Skills:

  • Proven experience in manual QA testing, ideally within a mobile app environment.
  • Strong knowledge of exploratory testing techniques and the ability to identify edge cases.
  • Experience with in-sprint testing to ensure features are thoroughly validated during development.
  • Comprehensive understanding of regression testing practices.
  • Experience with test management and bug tracking tools.
  • Automation experience is advantageous but not required, as automation efforts will be developer-led.
  • Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work in a collaborative and fast-paced environment.
