Manufacturing Test Technician

Are you ready to play a key role in producing high-quality electrical and electromechanical tools? Join us as a Manufacturing Test Technician at our Stonehouse site, where you'll lead the testing, fault finding, and repair of cutting-edge electrical systems and components. Collaborate closely with our production team—assemblers, mechanical manufacturing technicians, and supervisors—to ensure tools meet rigorous standards through assembly, calibration, and testing procedures. Your expertise will keep our production tools and test equipment in top condition while driving continuous improvement within our manufacturing system.

Required Skills:

  • Proficient in carrying out functional tests of printed wiring assemblies (PWAs) and electronic assemblies
  • Ability to read blueprints and identify components accurately
  • Skilled in wire preparation, stripping, crimping, harness repair, and termination
  • Experience troubleshooting and repairing electrical and electromechanical systems
  • Familiarity with electronic lab equipment such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, and high/low voltage power supplies (up to 400VDC)
  • Competent with electronic technician tools and general test instruments
  • Basic soldering, crimping, and assembly skills
  • Ability to produce deliverables from full drawing packs to IPC standards
  • Strong team player with a continuous improvement mindset

Nice to Have Skills:

  • Knowledge of hydraulics and mechanical assemblies
  • Experience with automated machine operation and programming
  • Previous exposure to MRP systems, particularly SAP

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • Further education in Electrical or Electronic Engineering (ONC, HNC, HND, NVQ Level 2 or equivalent)
  • Proven ability to work successfully within design constraints
  • Hands-on experience in low and high voltage testing and fault finding

Other Requirements:

  • Ability to undergo a practical test involving sub-assembly testing as part of the recruitment process
  • Commitment to 37.5 hours per week at the Stonehouse facility
