Summary: The Manager of Internal Communications for Quality, Risk & Security at Deloitte is responsible for developing and delivering communication plans that enhance awareness and promote ethical behavior within the organization. Key Responsibilities:
- Advise and support senior leaders on communications strategies, including key messages and best practices.
- Develop and implement a people-centric communications plan in partnership with Quality, Risk and Security leadership.
- Support crisis and emergency communications, contributing to the crisis management internal communications playbook.
- Create and edit engaging communications materials such as articles, emails, and digital content.
- Coordinate communications to ensure alignment with firmwide agendas and measure their impact.
- Uphold brand standards and regulatory requirements in all communications.
Key Skills:
- Proven experience in Internal Communications, preferably in a business partner role.

Reporting to our Head of Internal Communications for UK Firmwide & Enabling Functions, as part of the firm’s central Internal Communications & Engagement team, you’ll business partner with our Quality, Risk and Security team (QRS) to develop and deliver engaging communication plans that increase awareness, shift behaviours and help ensure our people always do the right thing. From helping our people understand how to avoid the threat of cybercrime, to encouraging two-way conversations about ethics and the public interest in the work we do. This is a varied role, with lots of opportunity to make an impact and do things differently. As well as working closely with senior stakeholders in our Quality, Risk and Security teams, you’ll also work with our Heads of Internal Communications in Deloitte’s four businesses (Technology & Transformation, Strategy, Risk & Transactions Advisory, Tax & Legal and Audit & Assurance) providing compelling content and creative assets for cascade through local channels.
The role is responsible for leading on communications initiatives supporting the firm’s internal priorities and for ensuring our communications channels and messages are joined up, consistent, support our regulatory responsibilities and contribute to a positive employee experience.
Specific responsibilities include:
- Advising leadership: advise and support senior leaders and their teams on communications to the firm, including key messages, channels, tone of voice and best practice.
- Communications planning: develop and implement a communications plan in partnership with our Quality, Risk and Security leadership teams that’s people centric, supports strategic priorities, meets the wider business objectives, whilst using creative and engaging tactics that encourage behavioural change.
- Crisis and emergency communications: support the drafting and issuing of emergency communications to the firm, working closely with the Head of UK Internal Communications & Enabling Functions, Director of UK Internal Communications & Engagement and Lead Partners; regularly input to the development and maintenance of the crisis management internal communications playbook.
- Produce, edit and review: create compelling and engaging communications Viva Engage posts, articles, emails, webinar scripts and live events posters/digital signage, videos/animations etc. With support from a small central Hub of communications professionals and internal creative and events agencies. You will also harness our AI tools to assist you in developing great written content.
- Coordinate widely: provide oversight and coordination to ensure communications align and are part of the firmwide communications agenda, and that messages are landing in the optimum way, whilst measuring their impact.
- Quality, risk and reputation: manage and uphold the highest of standards throughout, consistently meeting the firm's brand standards and regulatory requirements.
Connect to your skills and professional experience Essentials: Proven Internal Communications experience, preferably in a communications business partner or closely related role A strategic communications thinker with excellent project management and organisational skills, and the ability to work under pressure and deliver against multiple priorities simultaneously, prioritising appropriately. Strong interpersonal skills, with ability to build solid relationships and gain credibility with stakeholders at all levels and confidence to say no when needed, while remaining diplomatic and consensus-driven. The ability to operate effectively with complex information and ambiguity. Effective channels management and reporting. Proficient in reporting the effectiveness of project communications, using tools and methodologies that make sense of how we’re performing. Experience in using insights to make recommendations for short, medium and longer-term improvements. This will mean influencing key stakeholders with compelling propositions. You’ll need to be a team player with other UK firmwide Internal Communications & Engagement team members, and the wider communications and engagement team, in priority projects and any other tasks as preferred.
Additional desirable experience: Sentiment analysis of communications effectiveness. Communications technologies/platforms knowledge and experience: Including the Microsoft 365 suite (SharePoint Modern, Viva Engage as well as the office applications). Poppulo (for email).
