Summary: The Management Surveyor role is a maternity cover position within a London-based investment and asset management firm, focusing on the management of a UK-wide retail portfolio. Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and manage service charge budgets and reconciliations.
  • Oversee service charge queries, caps and reconciliations with a clear, commercial approach.
  • Support rent collection, arrears management and associated reporting.
  • Produce accurate management reports and maintain property management systems.
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders and external managing agents to ensure consistent delivery.

Key Skills:

  • Working knowledge of managing service charge budgets and reconciliations.
  • Working knowledge of landlord and tenant matters within a retail environment.
  • Experience managing retail parks and/or shopping centres is advantageous.
  • MRICS is desirable but not essential.
  • Clear communication skills and a structured, collaborative working style.
  • Clean UK driving licence.

At Cobalt, we're partnering with a London-based, client-side investment and asset management business to appoint a Management Surveyor into their retail property management team. This Management Surveyor role covers maternity leave and offers exposure to a UK-wide portfolio of retail parks and shopping centres within a well-resourced environment.

The organisation

  • Salary of £52,000 plus discretionary bonus, alongside a 9.5% non-contributory pension.

The role and responsibilities

Reporting into the Head of Retail Property Management, the Management Surveyor will take responsibility for day-to-day property management across retail parks and shopping centres nationwide.
