Summary: The Management Accountant - Systems Support role at The Open University involves managing budgeting, forecasting, and reporting functions while supporting financial system transformations. Key Responsibilities:

  • Opening and closing budgeting and forecasting models monthly.
  • Updating system dimensions and running spot-check reconciliations.
  • Weekly maintenance of input forms and dimension refreshes.
  • Managing business process flow templates and user access.
  • Creating user-specific reports and input forms.
  • Investigating user queries and escalating issues to IT support via ticketing systems.
  • Liaising with offshore IT support to ensure timely resolution of defects.
  • Supporting business partners in forecasting, budgeting, and reporting tasks.
  • Working closely with cross-functional teams (Finance, IT, and other departments) to gather requirements and deliver solutions.
  • Adapting to and managing additional responsibilities as they arise in a dynamic environment.

Key Skills:

  • Proven experience using SAP BPC (Business Planning & Consolidation) - essential.
  • Working knowledge of SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC) - desirable.
  • Strong accounting background with the ability to understand and explain financial data.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across multiple teams and functions.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Experience working in large or complex organisations, ideally within higher education.
