Key Responsibilities:
- Lead month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
- Prepare monthly management accounts and ensure all figures are accurate and up to date.
- Maintain and reconcile the general ledger, including balance sheet and intercompany accounts.
- Assist with statutory accounts preparation and support external audits in line with FRS 102.
- Monitor daily cash flow and forecasts, providing insights on cash position and covenant compliance.
- Highlight potential cash flow risks and suggest mitigation strategies.
- Support treasury activities, including bank payments and cash controls.
- Ensure VAT and other statutory compliance obligations are met.
- Collaborate with teams across the business to gather financial data and provide actionable insights.
- Identify opportunities to streamline, improve, and automate financial processes and reporting.
- Provide ad-hoc analysis and reports to support senior management decision-making.
- Maintain compliance with internal policies and accounting standards.
Key Skills:
- Newly or recently qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA, or ACA) with FRS 102 knowledge.
- At least three years’ experience in a similar finance or accounting role.
- Strong understanding of double-entry bookkeeping and core accounting principles.
- Excellent Excel skills.
- Comfortable working with large datasets across multiple systems.
- Highly detail-oriented and able to meet tight deadlines.
- Proactive, hands-on, and able to suggest improvements.
- Adaptable and thrives in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
- Strong communicator with the ability to work effectively with colleagues at all levels.
- Experience with treasury and daily cash flow management or forecasting (desirable).
- Previous exposure to a PE-backed or high-growth business (desirable).
