Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
  • Prepare monthly management accounts and ensure all figures are accurate and up to date.
  • Maintain and reconcile the general ledger, including balance sheet and intercompany accounts.
  • Assist with statutory accounts preparation and support external audits in line with FRS 102.
  • Monitor daily cash flow and forecasts, providing insights on cash position and covenant compliance.
  • Highlight potential cash flow risks and suggest mitigation strategies.
  • Support treasury activities, including bank payments and cash controls.
  • Ensure VAT and other statutory compliance obligations are met.
  • Collaborate with teams across the business to gather financial data and provide actionable insights.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline, improve, and automate financial processes and reporting.
  • Provide ad-hoc analysis and reports to support senior management decision-making.
  • Maintain compliance with internal policies and accounting standards.

Key Skills:

  • Newly or recently qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA, or ACA) with FRS 102 knowledge.
  • At least three years’ experience in a similar finance or accounting role.
  • Strong understanding of double-entry bookkeeping and core accounting principles.
  • Excellent Excel skills.
  • Comfortable working with large datasets across multiple systems.
  • Highly detail-oriented and able to meet tight deadlines.
  • Proactive, hands-on, and able to suggest improvements.
  • Adaptable and thrives in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
  • Strong communicator with the ability to work effectively with colleagues at all levels.
  • Experience with treasury and daily cash flow management or forecasting (desirable).
  • Previous exposure to a PE-backed or high-growth business (desirable).
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics Business Central (desirable).

We’re looking for a Management Accountant to join a high-growth, PE-backed infrastructure business based in Warrington. This is a hands-on role offering exposure to management accounts, cash flow management, statutory reporting, and process improvement in a fast-paced, commercial environment.
