Summary: The Management Accountant role involves delivering accurate financial reporting across multiple international locations, including profit and loss analysis, cash flow reporting, and compliance with regulations. The position requires collaboration with various teams to ensure timely month-end closures and support for audits and budget preparations. The successful candidate will also manage VAT returns and foreign currency holdings while driving process improvements within the finance function.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with the ledger supervisor to ensure smooth and timely month-end closures.
  • Prepare month-end financial results across multiple international sites and departments.
  • Conduct detailed analysis of departmental costs versus budget and prior year figures; present findings at monthly meetings.
  • Assist the finance manager and head of finance with the preparation of the annual financial budget and related analysis.
  • Support senior finance team members in the successful and timely completion of statutory annual audits.
  • Prepare and submit VAT returns and tax compliance reports in line with regulations.
  • Prepare and submit National Statistics requests on time.
  • Prepare weekly cash flow reports for senior finance management.
  • Monitor foreign currency holdings and manage forward contracts using relevant systems.
  • Liaise with the sales team on client deposit calculations and coordinate with the sales ledger team.
  • Support monitoring and reporting of trade debtors and client debt recovery efforts.
  • Ensure compliance with all financial obligations and processes.
  • Set up folders and ensure timely completion of balance sheet reconciliations for review.
  • Complete the intercompany matrix as required.
  • Escalate client queries to senior finance management in liaison with the ledger supervisor.
  • Collaborate proactively with the finance team to maintain robust processes and drive continuous improvement.
  • Assist in the ongoing development of the finance function, including training staff on processes and systems.

Key Skills:

  • Must be a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent).
  • Proven experience in management accounting, ideally within an international business environment.
  • Strong knowledge of financial reporting, budgeting, VAT, and regulatory compliance.
  • Experience with foreign currency management and financial systems.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Proactive team player focused on process improvement.
  • Willingness and ability to travel to the office 5 days a week.
