Summary: The Management Accountant (Payroll & Finance) role is a hands-on position within a growing engineering and manufacturing business, focusing on payroll and management accounting. The successful candidate will manage end-to-end payroll processes while supporting the Head of Finance with reporting and analysis. This 12-month contract offers the opportunity for significant ownership and contribution to process improvements. Key Responsibilities:
- Manage end-to-end fortnightly payroll
- Ensure payroll compliance, pensions, and employee-related processes
- Prepare monthly management accounts with analysis and commentary
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and cost analysis
- Oversee receivables, reconciliations, and cash processes
- Complete VAT returns, balance sheet reconciliations, and maintain the fixed asset register
- Assist with audit, systems improvements, and ad-hoc finance projects
Key Skills:
- Part-qualified (ACCA/CIMA) or equivalent experience
- Background in both management accounts and payroll
- Strong Excel skills and good attention to detail
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, hands-on environment
- Experience with Sage (desirable)
