Summary: This role is for a Management Accountant within a Housing Association, focusing on both Management Accounting and Procurement support. The position requires collaboration with operational and commercial stakeholders to enhance financial insight, reporting, and procurement processes. The successful candidate will contribute to budget management, financial planning, and compliance with procurement regulations. This dual-purpose role is integral to strengthening the finance function and delivering value for money in services provided to the community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Delivering robust financial insight and reporting
  • Supporting budget holders across the organisation
  • Strengthening procurement processes to ensure value for money and compliance
  • Produce monthly management accounts with insightful variance analysis
  • Support budget setting, forecasting and financial planning cycles
  • Partner with budget holders to improve financial understanding and performance
  • Assist with year-end accounts and audit process
  • Monitor and report on cost savings and efficiencies
  • Provide financial input into business cases and investment decisions
  • Support the delivery of the organisation's procurement strategy
  • Ensure compliance with public sector procurement regulations and internal policies

  • Understanding of procurement processes and value-for-money principles
  • Strong Excel and financial systems skills
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement ability
  • Experience within a Housing Association or local authority (desirable)
  • Knowledge of public procurement regulations (e.g. PCR / UK procurement rules) (desirable)
  • Experience working with contract management or supplier performance (desirable)
  • Experience supporting commercial decision-making/cost optimisation (desirable)

Role

This is a dual-purpose role combining Management Accounting and Procurement support, sitting within the Finance team but working closely with operational and commercial stakeholders.

You will play a key role in:
