Management Accountant (Maternity Cover)

Location: Kent

Salary: 45-50K PA

An established international engineering and manufacturing business is seeking a commercially focused Management Accountant to join its finance team. The organisation operates across multiple global markets, supplying innovative technical solutions to a broad customer base and maintaining a strong reputation for quality, operational excellence, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly management accounts and reporting packs.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities.
• Deliver detailed variance analysis and provide meaningful financial insights.
• Assist with month-end and year-end close processes.
• Monitor operational costs and identify opportunities for efficiency improvements.
• Business partner with operational and departmental managers.
• Complete balance sheet reconciliations and maintain financial controls.
• Support statutory reporting and audit requirements.
• Drive process improvements and contribute to finance-related projects.

Candidate Profile

• Qualified or part-qualified ACA, ACCA, or CIMA.
• Previous management accounting experience.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Advanced Excel skills and experience working with ERP systems.
• Ability to communicate financial information effectively to both finance and non-finance stakeholders.
• Proactive, organised, and commercially aware.
• Experience within manufacturing, engineering, or a similarly operational environment would be advantageous.
