Summary: The Management Accountant role is a temp-to-perm position within a high-growth real estate company based in London. The successful candidate will be responsible for the monthly management accounts process, ensuring accurate financial reporting and providing analytical insights to support senior leadership. This position requires strong accounting skills and the ability to communicate financial performance effectively to non-finance stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Produce full monthly management accounts to strict deadlines, including Profit & Loss Analysis, Balance Sheet reconciliations, Cashflow reporting, and Variance analysis and commentary.
- Prepare and post accruals, prepayments, depreciation, and other month-end journals.
- Maintain accurate balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring all control accounts are up to date.
- Support budgeting and forecasting cycles, providing analytical insights and challenge.
- Perform monthly review of results with key stakeholders and senior finance.
- Strengthen and streamline month-end and financial reporting processes.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, financial policies, and reporting standards.
- Assist with year-end processes, audit preparation, and auditor queries.
- Act as a finance business partner to operational teams, providing clear financial insight.
- Support decision-making through value-adding analysis and scenario modelling.
- Communicate financial performance to non-finance stakeholders with clarity and impact.
- Support wider finance projects, including systems improvements and process automation.
- Assist with ad-hoc analysis, reporting and commercial initiatives as required.
- Contribute to the development of reporting tools and dashboards.
Key Skills:
- Finalist or fully qualified ACCA / ACA / CIMA essential.
- Strong experience producing end-to-end monthly management accounts.
- Proven track record handling accruals, prepayments, P&L and balance sheet ownership.
- NetSuite Software experience a plus but not essential.
- Solid understanding of financial controls, reconciliations, and accounting standards.
- Experience in a group or multi-entity environment beneficial.
- Proficient in Excel (lookups, pivots, data manipulation).
- Experience with modern accounting/ERP systems.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Highly organised with excellent attention to detail.
- Able to work independently and manage competing deadlines.
- Strong communicator able to explain financial information clearly.
