Summary: The Management Accountant role involves delivering accurate financial reporting and insightful analysis to support strategic decision-making within the business. The position requires collaboration with senior stakeholders and a focus on driving business growth. The successful candidate will have full ownership of management accounting and will assist in budgeting, forecasting, and year-end audits. This contract position is ideal for a fully qualified accountant with experience in the food & beverage or retail sector.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Full ownership of management accounting
  • Prepare monthly management accounts, including P&L, balance sheet, and variance analysis
  • Oversight of COGS, labour costs, bonus calculations, payroll support, and overheads including prepayments and accruals
  • Support budgeting and forecasting processes
  • Provide financial insight and analysis to support business performance
  • Assist with year-end audit and statutory reporting
  • Maintain and improve financial controls and processes
  • Business partnering with operations and sales teams to drive financial understanding and accountability
  • Collaborate with department heads to ensure accurate cost tracking and performance reporting

Key Skills:

  • Fully qualified accountant (CAANZ, ACCA, CIMA, ACA or equivalent)
  • Experience in food & beverage or retail sector is ideal
  • Background in audit or progression through a finance function
  • Strong grasp of P&L structures, cost drivers, and commercial performance metrics
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced, evolving environment with new processes and revenue streams
  • Collaborative, solutions-focused mindset with a drive for continuous improvement

As a Management Accountant, you’ll play a key role in delivering accurate financial reporting, insightful analysis, and supporting strategic decision-making across the business. Reporting into the Head of Finance, you will play a key part in providing continuity within the finance function and driving business growth.

Your new role
