Key Responsibilities:

  • Supporting a key finance project through accurate reporting of financial performance against actuals.
  • Analysing results and providing clear commentary on variances and key drivers.
  • Developing a thorough understanding of assigned accounts, data flows, and reporting outputs.
  • Supporting month-end close by validating balances and investigating variances.
  • Preparing high-quality balance sheet reconciliations and resolving discrepancies.
  • Monitoring automated Oracle postings and posting manual journals where required.
  • Generating and distributing financial reports to support project and business requirements.
  • Ensuring Oracle module transactions (Accounts Receivable, Fixed Assets, Inventory, and Cash) are accurate prior to transfer to the General Ledger.
  • Investigating errors, identifying root causes, and supporting process improvements.

Key Skills:

  • A solid understanding of accounting principles and financial statements.
  • Experience reporting financial results against actuals and providing insightful commentary.
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in account reconciliation, ideally in a retail or fast-paced environment.
  • An accounting qualification or be working towards (ACA, ACCA, CIMA).
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to explain financial variances clearly.
  • Experience with Oracle Fusion would be advantageous, though not essential.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present financial insights clearly.

Are you an experienced finance professional who enjoys analysing financial performance, reporting against actuals, and providing clear insights? We have an exciting opportunity to join B&M on a project basis, supporting the finance team with accurate reporting, reconciliations, and meaningful financial commentary. As a Management Accountant, you will work closely with the MA Manager to support a key finance project, focusing on reporting actual performance, investigating variances, and providing clear commentary to support decision-making. Alongside this, you will ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data through reconciliations and involvement in month-end processes .This role will play an important part in ensuring financial information is accurate, well understood, and clearly communicated to stakeholders . This role is based 4 days a week in our Support Centre, Speke Liverpool (L24 ).
