Summary: The role of Temporary Management Accountant involves supporting the finance team during a transitional period in a fast-paced organization near Leeds. The position requires delivering accurate financial reporting and insights while collaborating with the Finance Manager and team. This short-term assignment is designed to make an immediate impact in a commercially driven environment. The role is expected to last for 3 months, focusing on month-end processes and financial analysis.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare monthly management accounts, including variance analysis
  • Support budgeting and forecasting activities
  • Post journals, accruals, and prepayments
  • Reconcile balance sheet accounts and bank statements
  • Assist with cash flow reporting and working capital analysis
  • Provide financial insights to support operational and strategic decisions
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders to gather financial data and resolve queries
  • Support year-end and audit preparation if required

Key Skills:

  • Qualified or part-qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA)
  • Proven experience in management accounting roles
  • Strong Excel skills and familiarity with accounting software (eg, Sage, Xero, QuickBooks)
  • Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills
  • Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Available to start immediately or on short notice

About the CompanyWe're a fast-paced and forward-thinking organisation located just outside Leeds, seeking an experienced Management Accountant to support our finance team during a key transitional period. This short-term assignment offers the chance to make an immediate impact in a collaborative and commercially driven environment.
Role OverviewAs a Temporary Management Accountant, you'll be responsible for delivering accurate and timely financial reporting, supporting month-end processes, and providing valuable insights to aid decision-making. You'll work closely with the Finance Manager and wider team to ensure continuity and stability during this 3-month period.
