Summary: The role of Management Accountant involves a hands-on finance position within a well-established engineering business for a 6-month contract. The accountant will support day-to-day accounting, reporting, and business partnering in a busy manufacturing environment. Key tasks include preparing management accounts, managing ledgers, and overseeing payroll administration. The position requires strong analytical skills and proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare monthly management accounts and produce Board reports with detailed variance analysis
- Manage accruals, prepayments, journals, and contract revenue accounting
- Maintain sales and purchase ledgers, including invoicing and supplier payments
- Produce weekly cash flow forecasts and assist with budgeting and forecasting
- Extract data from ERP systems to support contract reviews and margin analysis
- Prepare quarterly VAT submissions and support year-end audit and statutory reporting
- Oversee payroll administration in liaison with HR
Key Skills:
- Qualified ACCA/CIMA, part qualified or QBE will be considered
- Experience in a similar hands-on and varied role, ideally within manufacturing or engineering
- Comfortable working with ERP systems
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail
