Summary: The Management Accountant role is a temporary position until December 2026, based in Coventry, focusing on overheads within a large construction organization. Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting and overhead analysis.
- Support month-end processes including preparation of accruals, journals, and reconciliations.
- Assist with management accounts, audit requirements, and cash reporting.
- Manage payables, sales ledger activities, and intercompany transactions.
- Contribute to system and process improvements in a fast-paced contract environment.
Key Skills:
- Experience in a Management Accountant or similar role, ideally within construction.

You will be working for a large construction organisation based in Coventry.
Your new role
You will join a construction business within the divisional finance team, focusing on overheads rather than project accounting. Partnering with Heads of Department, you will ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, taking ownership of overhead analysis, cost control, and variance reporting. You will support the month-end process through preparation of accruals, journals, and reconciliations, alongside assisting with management accounts, audit requirements, and cash reporting. The role also includes broader finance duties such as supporting CVR reporting at a high level, managing payables, sales ledger activities, intercompany transactions, and contributing to system and process improvements in a fast-paced contract environment.
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this role, you need experience in a Management Accountant or similar role, ideally within construction or a related sector, with strong knowledge of overheads, month-end processes, and core accounting principles. You will be confident working with senior non-finance stakeholders, able to provide clear insight and challenge where needed, and possess strong Excel and systems skills. A proactive, hands-on approach is essential, along with the ability to quickly adapt, manage deadlines, and work independently.
