Summary: The Management Accountant role is a 6-month fixed-term contract based in Basildon, focusing on supporting the finance team with month-end processes and financial reporting. The position requires a detail-oriented individual who will report to the Financial Controller and assist with various financial tasks, including management accounts preparation and cashflow forecasting. The ideal candidate will have relevant experience in management accounting and be confident in using Excel and reporting tools. Immediate interviews are being conducted for this position.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Full month-end process including journals, accruals, prepayments, and balance sheet reconciliations
  • Preparation of management accounts and variance analysis
  • Cashflow monitoring and forecasting
  • Assist with year-end and audit preparation
  • Liaise with department heads on budget tracking
  • Ad hoc financial support to the wider business

Key Skills:

  • Part qualified, fully qualified or QBE
  • Proven experience in a management accounting role
  • Confident with Excel and reporting tools
  • Adaptable and proactive – SME experience preferred

Job Title: Management Accountant (6 Month FTC)

Location: Basildon

Contract: Full-time, Fixed Term (6 months)

Salary: £45,000 – £50,000 (pro rata)

Start: ASAP

Our client, a well established PE backed SME are recruiting for a detail oriented Management Accountant to support their finance team.

The Role: Reporting directly to the Financial Controller, you will take ownership of the month end process and support the business with accurate financial reporting and analysis.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Full month-end process including journals, accruals, prepayments, and balance sheet reconciliations
  • Preparation of management accounts and variance analysis
  • Cashflow monitoring and forecasting
  • Assist with year-end and audit preparation
