Summary: The role of Product Owner for Managed Desktop Services at FDM involves overseeing technical support and expertise for IT infrastructure products within the public sector. This hybrid position requires a strong technical background and problem-solving skills to manage and optimize infrastructure components using Microsoft technologies. The candidate will be responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, and enhancing endpoint security and compliance while collaborating with stakeholders to improve user experience. This is a 6-month contract with potential for extension, based in Solihull.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical information and support on the evaluation, installation, acquisition, and use of the MDS service.
  • Document root causes and recommend changes to system configurations to prevent recurrences.
  • Evaluate usage patterns and improve the incident and problem resolution knowledge base.
  • Manage and troubleshoot issues with the MS Service team, recommending process improvements.
  • Implement new functions and facilitate migration to modern platforms supporting the MDS Standard Service.
  • Consult on specialty areas related to MDS Standard Service and provide technical assistance.
  • Manage Windows endpoint deployment, configuration, and security using Intune and Autopilot.
  • Maintain device compliance policies, security baselines, and conditional access.
  • Ensure endpoint security compliance, including BitLocker and Defender for Endpoint.
  • Support planning and delivery of MDS Standard Service support services.
  • Act as 3rd Line technical support, diagnosing and assigning tickets appropriately.

Key Skills:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in IT infrastructure support or a related role.
  • Proven experience in Windows device management and endpoint administration.
  • Strong expertise in Microsoft Intune, Autopilot, and SCCM.
  • Experience in device provisioning, Windows 10/11 imaging, and profile management.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft 365 security and conditional access policies.
  • Scripting and automation skills (PowerShell required).
  • Understanding of networking fundamentals, Group Policy, and Active Directory/Azure AD.
  • Experience with MDM/MAM policies and compliance policies.
  • Microsoft Certified: Endpoint Administrator Associate (MD-102).
  • Microsoft Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate (MD-100/MD-101).
  • ITIL Foundation Certification.
  • CompTIA A+ / Network+.
  • Eligible for SC Clearance.
