Key Responsibilities:

  • Undertake service and repair of the depot rolling stock and associated equipment.
  • Service, maintain, and repair the overhaul fleet locomotives, coaching stock, and equipment.
  • Ensure the fleet is serviced and maintained in a safe, efficient, and cost-effective manner.
  • Seek to improve quality.
  • Operate as a member of a work team as required.
  • Maintain good housekeeping within the working area.
  • Undertake any other duties as required within the scope of the modification work.

Key Skills:

  • Proven experience in a Mechanical or Electrical engineering environment.
  • Mechanical or Electrical qualification at NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent).
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities with a proactive approach.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Capable of working independently and using own initiative.
  • Sound judgement with confident decision-making skills.
  • Ability to accurately complete all documentation, records, and operational reports.

Maintenance Team Member / Technician, Rolling Stock

Rullion is offering an exciting opportunity for a qualified mechanical fitter to become part of an established rolling stock company based out of Oxley, Wolverhampton. You will play a pivotal role as part of the maintenance team dedicated to a High-Speed locomotive fleet

This role falls inside of IR35 and therefore payment options are either PAYE or Umbrella:

Contract: 6 month rolling

Hourly rate: £31.88 - £38.18 (Umbrella) /£24.96 - £28.34 (PAYE).

Shift work, early and late turns. These rotate over a 9 week schedule

Early - 06.00 to 14.00

Early - 06.00 to 18.00

Late - 12.30 to 20.00

Late - 19.30 to 06.00

Principal Accountability's

  • To undertake service and repair of the depot rolling stock and associated equipment in support of the operation of the depot.
  • Servicing, maintaining and repair of the overhaul fleet locomotives, coaching stock, and equipment.
  • Ensuring that the fleet is serviced and maintained in a safe, efficient and cost-effective manner.
  • Seeking to improve quality.
  • Operate as a member of a work team, as the role of that work team requires.
  • Maintain good housekeeping within the working area.
  • Undertake any other duties as and when required within the scope of the modification work.

Knowledge & Experience
