Summary: The Maintenance ICSS Engineer is responsible for overseeing maintenance activities related to Integrated Control and Safety Systems (ICSS), ensuring compliance with engineering standards and safety regulations. The role involves troubleshooting, coordinating with various departments, and participating in emergency response activities. The engineer will also review documentation for new projects and maintain open communication regarding safety practices. A strong emphasis is placed on health, safety, and environmental standards throughout all responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in all ICSS-related maintenance activities, ensuring integration with production and asset leadership plans.
  • Review ICSS documentation for new projects (operation philosophy, O&M manuals, control narratives) and share insights with the team.
  • Develop and maintain ICSS systems in line with engineering standards and best practices.
  • Troubleshoot ICSS issues in operational facilities.
  • Communicate maintenance team expectations on job safety, health, environment, and security.
  • Coordinate with operations and technical departments to maintain equipment reliability.
  • Assist in planning and execution of plant turnarounds and facility upgrades.
  • Ensure all responsibilities are fulfilled according to laws, regulations, standards, and internal procedures, with emphasis on health, safety, and environment.
  • Maintain open communication on ICSS matters such as safe work practices, training, and materials with peers and technicians.
  • Conduct failure analysis, recommend corrective actions, and verify performance after implementation.
  • Review design proposals for new or upgraded facilities.
  • Participate in emergency response activities and drills, including debriefs and procedure reviews.
  • Support company policies on drugs, ethics, and conduct while respecting personal rights.
  • Report incidents according to internal and external guidelines and escalate as required.

Key Skills:

  • Minimum 7 years of experience in control systems or ICSS engineering.
  • Degree in Instrumentation & Control Systems, Telecommunication, or Electrical Engineering.
  • Experience in engineering, modification, configuration, evaluation, and troubleshooting of systems including DeltaV (mandatory), Foxboro Invensys, and Allen Bradley.
  • Knowledge of process control, fire & gas systems, and ESD systems.
  • Iraqi nationality preferred.
  • Expertise in ICSS systems, particularly DeltaV (mandatory), Foxboro Invensys Schneider, and Allen Bradley.
  • Strong technical skills in control system maintenance and troubleshooting (e.g., resetting, tuning, engineering modifications).
  • Understanding of communication systems such as fiber optics, wireless transmitters, and SCADA radio systems.
  • Excellent English communication skills (verbal & written).
  • Strong safety awareness and ability to promote HSE culture.
  • Experience in multicultural environments.
  • Skilled in reporting and case analysis.
  • Experience liaising with contractors, business partners, and local stakeholders.
  • Strong emergency preparedness capabilities.
  • Good managerial, interpersonal, and motivational skills.
  • Proficiency in safety tools and processes (e.g., PTW, JSA, Risk Assessments).
  • Familiarity with CMMS such as Maximo.
