Summary: The Maintenance Engineer role in North Wales involves providing electrical maintenance support at a leading chemical manufacturing site. Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out planned and reactive electrical maintenance across site assets, including pumps, motors, control panels, and instrumentation.
- Diagnose and rectify electrical faults quickly and safely to reduce downtime.
- Ensure compliance with ATEX/DSEAR regulations, working safely in potentially explosive atmospheres.
- Conduct inspections and testing of electrical systems and components, producing accurate documentation.
- Support installation and commissioning of new equipment and upgrades.
- Work closely with engineering, operations, and HSE teams to maintain site reliability and safety.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records in line with CMMS and site standards.
Key Skills:
- Apprentice-trained Electrical Engineer (NVQ Level 3 or equivalent).
- CompEx certification (Ex01 - Ex04) is essential.
- Experience working within chemical, petrochemical, or pharmaceutical environments (ideally COMAH).
- Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills on a wide range of electrical systems.
- Knowledge of ATEX zones, intrinsically safe equipment, and hazardous area classification.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and P&IDs.
- Excellent awareness of health, safety, and environmental standards.
- Desirable: 18th Edition IEE Wiring Regulations.
- Previous experience working on instrumentation and/or PLC systems.
- Familiarity with CMMS systems.
- IOSH or equivalent HSE training.
