Summary: An opportunity exists for a Full Time Maintenance Engineer at the Garvagh depot, focusing on maximizing throughput at Material Recovery Facilities through scheduled and breakdown maintenance of waste processing equipment. The role requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and adherence to safety and compliance standards. Candidates must possess relevant engineering qualifications and experience, particularly in mechanical, electrical, or mechatronic engineering. The position involves shift work, including weekends and bank holidays, to ensure operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

• Completing planned preventative maintenance (PPM) tasks and breakdown maintenance of machinery.
• Reading engineering drawings for construction, assembly, and fitting of plant machinery/parts.
• Reporting tasks completed efficiently through maintenance software.
• Conducting daily maintenance inspections to ensure operational safety and compliance.
• Supporting the operational team to meet efficiency targets.
• Assisting with stock level control of spare parts and reporting to the Operations Supervisor/Manager.
• Carrying out other reasonable tasks as requested by the Company.

Key Skills:

• Minimum NVQ level 3 or equivalent in mechanical, electrical, or mechatronic engineering.
• Completion of a 3-year apprenticeship in an engineering field.
• Problem-solving skills with a practical approach to engineering issues.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and determine methods and sequences of operations.
• Analytical skills for investigation and practical problem resolution.
• Experience in fabrication tasks using Mig & Electrode Welding and gas burning equipment.
• Flexible working hours for shift arrangements, including weekends and call-out cover.
• Valid driving license is desirable but not essential.
• Experience in processing manufacturing or the waste industry is desirable.
