Summary: The role of Contract Maintenance Engineer involves providing multi-skilled engineering support to a leading National Manufacturing business. The engineer will be responsible for responding to equipment breakdowns, performing maintenance, and collaborating with production teams to ensure operational efficiency. The position emphasizes continuous improvement and training of operational staff. This role is classified as outside IR35 and offers a competitive hourly rate.
Key Responsibilities:
- Respond efficiently to equipment breakdowns across production areas.
- Carry out planned and proactive maintenance on a wide range of machinery.
- Diagnose faults using technical documentation and machine history.
- Work collaboratively with production teams and support staff.
- Assist and train operational staff on minor maintenance tasks.
- Ensure machinery is maintained to high standards to reduce downtime.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the engineering department.
Key Skills:
- Time-served Engineering Apprenticeship (preferred).
- Strong mechanical skills, ideally multi-skilled.
- Previous experience in Food / FMCG / Packaging sectors is advantageous.
- Excellent communicator with strong organisational skills.
