Summary: The Maintenance Electrician role at HMP Full Sutton involves performing planned and preventative electrical maintenance within a prison environment. Candidates will be responsible for diagnosing and replacing electrical components, responding to breakdowns, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations. Key Responsibilities:
- Planned and preventative electrical maintenance.
- Diagnosing and replacing failed domestic electrical components.
- Responding to breakdowns and ensuring compliance with Safe System of Work.
- Fault-finding and problem-solving on domestic electrical systems.
- Undertaking electrical installation activities in accordance with design and IET Wiring Regulations.
- Testing and inspecting electrical installations per current IEE wiring regulations.
- Monitoring and ordering critical spares for electrical services.
Key Skills:
- Technical qualifications (e.g., City & Guilds 2365 parts 1-3, BTEC, NVQ level 2 or above).
- Knowledge of BS7671 IET Wiring Regulations (18th Edition).
- Prison Security Clearance (support provided).
- Experience in electrical maintenance, distribution, installation, and testing.
- Knowledge of Electrical Systems and Electricity at Work Regulations.
- Ability to work at heights.
- Independent working and initiative.
- Valid passport or Full Birth Certificate & Photo Driving Licence.
- Proof of National Insurance and address dated in the past 3 months.
- Ability to provide at least 2 satisfactory employment references.
