Summary: The Maintenance Electrician at Grantley Hall is responsible for performing a variety of planned and reactive maintenance tasks, primarily focusing on electrical installations and systems. This role requires flexibility and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team, ensuring high standards of service delivery in a luxury hospitality environment. Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out a variety of planned and reactive maintenance tasks as directed.
  • Install and maintain electrical, electronic, electro-mechanical and data installations, systems, equipment and components.
  • Fault finding, diagnosis and repair of electrical installations, systems, equipment and components.
  • Carry out inspection, servicing and planned preventative maintenance works.
  • Provide on-call cover.
  • Make adequate records of all installation, repair, servicing and testing work undertaken.
  • Assist the building maintenance teams with electrical aspects of installation, alterations, refurbishments and maintenance tasks.
  • Provide detailed technical advice relevant to your discipline and assist management as required.
  • Work individually or as part of a team to complete repair and maintenance tasks.
  • Manage and prioritise own workload to complete repairs in a timely manner.
  • Use relevant IT systems to record all work undertaken and related expenditure.
  • Adhere to company health and safety policies and procedures.
  • Communicate effectively with department managers to minimize inconvenience.
  • Ensure that formal qualifications required for the role are kept up to date.

Key Skills:

  • Level 3 electrical qualification.
  • 18th edition wiring regulations.
  • 2391-52 inspection and testing.
  • ECS gold card holder.
  • PAT testing experience.
  • Emergency lighting operation and testing experience.
  • PASMA & IPAF qualifications would be beneficial but not essential.
  • Knowledge of fire alarms and plant operation/maintenance would be an advantage but not essential.
  • Confident, self-motivated and present a professional persona.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organisational skills.
  • Strong customer service ethos.
  • Utmost attention to detail when carrying out tasks.
  • Previous experience in a fast-paced, 24/7 commercial environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out a variety of planned and reactive maintenance tasks as directed, always demonstrating flexibility in relation to tasks allocated, which will be varied and not necessarily of an electrical nature.
  • Install and maintain electrical, electronic, electro-mechanical and data installations, systems, equipment and components.
  • Fault finding, diagnosis and repair of electrical installations, systems, equipment and components.
  • Carry out inspection, servicing and planned preventative maintenance works in line with departmental programs to a broad range of mechanical and electrical building engineering services.
  • Provide on-call cover.
  • Make adequate records of all installation, repair, servicing and testing work undertaken.
  • Assist the building maintenance teams as necessary with electrical aspects of installation, alterations, refurbishments and maintenance tasks.
  • Provide detailed technical advice relevant to your discipline and assist management as required.
