Summary: The Mainframe DB2 System Admin/System Programmer role involves managing and optimizing DB2 environments within a hybrid work model. Key Responsibilities:
- Perform mainframe database software upgrades and administration to support DB2 environments.
- Establish policies and procedures for database management, disaster recovery, security, and maintenance.
- Analyze new versions of DB2 for functionality improvements and cost reduction.
- Conduct performance data collection, analysis, and tuning of DB2 systems.
- Execute project and internal initiative responsibilities as assigned.
- Participate in incident and problem management activities related to applications and DB2.
- Perform problem diagnostics, resolution, and change management.
- Collaborate with IT team members, functional users, and vendors for project implementation.
- Provide 24/7 on-call support for Mainframe Infrastructure.
- Develop and maintain operational documentation, best practices, and run books.
- Implement tools and procedures to maintain a stable environment.
Key Skills:
- 7+ years of experience with Mainframe DB2 and/or data replication products.
- Experience in data sharing SysPlex environments.
- Strong problem determination skills in system and application areas.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with other experts.
- Initiative to improve and optimize solutions.
- Preferred experience with IDAA, IDAA Bulk Loader, and CDC Replication.
- Experience in design, configuration, and support for critical applications.

Primary Skills:
- Have 7+ years of experience of installing and/or customizing software products Mainframe DB2 and/or data replication product suite
- Experience working with large systems in data sharing SysPlex environment
- Has thorough knowledge of resources available and demonstrated ability to use the resources for problem determination, product enhancements and other technical issues related to the components being administered
- Strong problem determination skills in both system and application areas
- Able to work both as individual and as a team member with other subject matter experts and infrastructure DBAs
- A high level of personal initiative is a must to help us improve and optimize the solutions
Secondary Skills:
- Preferred experience with IDAA, IDAA Bulk Loader, and CDC Replication
- Experience with design, configuration and support services to production and development departments running critical and 24*7 applications
