Summary: The Mainframe CICS Web Services Specialist role involves working remotely initially, transitioning to an onsite position in Raleigh, NC. The specialist will leverage extensive programming experience in a mainframe environment, particularly with CICS and COBOL, to expose programs as web services. The position requires strong analytical and communication skills, along with the ability to collaborate with diverse teams on complex projects. This is a contract position lasting over 12 months.
Key Responsibilities:
- Expose CICS and COBOL programs as web services via CICS Transaction Server (CTS).
- Utilize programming techniques and languages in the mainframe environment.
- Conduct analysis and design for programming tasks.
- Test, debug, implement, and document programming solutions.
- Collaborate with business, management, and IT teams on large projects.
- Analyze and modify financial processes.
- Communicate effectively through written, verbal, and presentation skills.
- Organize, plan, and schedule tasks efficiently.
- Resolve complex programming problems.
- Utilize Microsoft Suite and mainframe tools such as COBOL, CICS, TSO, MVS JCL, ENDEVOR, CA Tools, SQL, DB2, and VSAM.
Key Skills:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a programmer analyst in corporate or government settings.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience with CICS and COBOL web services.
- Proven programming skills in a mainframe environment.
- Strong knowledge of computer programming principles and techniques.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and planning skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a diverse team.
- Experience with financial processes analysis.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite and mainframe technologies.

Must Have:
