Summary: The role of Contract Machine Learning Engineer involves supporting a leading consultancy's key fintech customer by building and deploying machine learning models. This position offers the opportunity to work on impactful projects at the intersection of data science and financial technology, with a focus on collaboration and technical leadership. The role is primarily remote with occasional onsite workshops in London. The contract is set for 6 months and is classified as outside IR35.
Key Responsibilities:
- Building and deploying robust ML models into production environments.
- Collaborating with data scientists, engineers, and stakeholders to translate business needs into scalable machine learning solutions.
- Optimising and retraining existing models to enhance performance.
- Supporting the consultancy’s end customer through technical leadership and best practices in ML/AI.
Key Skills:
- Strong Python programming skills with extensive ML/AI libraries (scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch, etc.).
- Experience deploying machine learning models into production (MLOps understanding beneficial).
- Solid understanding of data pipelines, model monitoring, and performance tuning.
- Background working within financial services or fintech sectors is a major plus.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, consultancy-driven environment.
