Summary: This role is for a Freelance M&E Project Manager to oversee mechanical and electrical projects ranging from £100k to £5m for a reputable contractor in Romsey. The position requires managing projects from contract award through to completion, ensuring high-quality installations across various sectors. The ideal candidate will have proven experience in building services and a strong understanding of M&E installations. Key Responsibilities:

  • Managing M&E Building Services projects from contract award through to completion
  • Overseeing installation works including HVAC systems, plantrooms, pipework, ventilation, public health, and electrical services
  • Coordinating site teams, supervisors, and subcontractors
  • Ensuring projects are delivered safely, on programme, and to the required quality standards
  • Managing programme delivery and site coordination across multiple work packages
  • Attending client and contractor meetings and maintaining strong stakeholder relationships
  • Supporting the commercial team with variations, cost control, and project reporting
  • Working closely with both mechanical and electrical teams to ensure coordinated M&E project delivery

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced M&E Project Manager to join a respected M&E Building Services contractor delivering mechanical and electrical projects from £100k to £5m.

The business is seeking an experienced project manager who can take ownership of projects and deliver high-quality building services installations across a range of sectors.

The role offers long-term project continuity and the opportunity to work with a well-established contractor delivering technically strong mechanical and electrical building services projects.

About the Company

The company is a well-established M&E Building Services contractor delivering mechanical and electrical installations across commercial, healthcare, education, industrial, leisure, and public sector environments. Known for their technical capability and consistent project delivery, the business has developed strong relationships with clients and consultants across the region.

Projects range from smaller works through to larger multi-million-pound building services installations, including full HVAC systems, plantrooms, pipework, ventilation, public health, electrical distribution, containment, lighting, and associated services.

The Role

As M&E Project Manager, you will take responsibility for managing building services projects from contract award through installation, commissioning, and final handover.

You will oversee both mechanical and electrical elements of projects, coordinating site teams, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure works are delivered safely, on programme, and within budget.

Projects typically range from £100k through to £5m and include both new build and refurbishment works across commercial, healthcare, education, industrial, and fit-out environments.

This role would suit candidates currently working as: Mechanical Project Manager, Electrical Project Manager, M&E Project Manager, Building Services Project Manager, Electrical Contracts Manager, or Mechanical Contracts Manager.

Key Responsibilities
