Summary: The M&E Project Manager will oversee the full mechanical and electrical (M&E) delivery of a £4m logistics hub project in Newport, Wales, for a leading M&E contractor. This short-term contract, lasting 8-12 weeks, requires an experienced professional to ensure project goals are met on time and within budget while managing teams and communicating with clients. The role involves planning, execution, and compliance with safety and regulatory standards. The Project Manager will also handle procurement, budgeting, and risk management throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the planning, execution, and completion of the full MEP for the project.
- Develop detailed project schedules and manage resource allocation.
- Ensure all project goals and milestones are met on time and within budget.
- Supervise and direct the MEP teams, subcontractors, and vendors.
- Provide guidance and technical support to direct reports and other team members.
- Communicate regularly with clients to understand their needs and provide project updates.
- Prepare and manage project budgets, ensuring financial control throughout the lifecycle.
- Oversee procurement processes for MEP materials and equipment.
- Monitor and approve invoicing, payment schedules, and change orders.
- Ensure that all MEP systems and installations adhere to local building codes, safety standards, and regulations.
- Implement safety protocols and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Identify potential project risks and implement mitigation strategies.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues and delays as they arise.
- Maintain accurate project documentation, including project plans, reports, and change orders.
- Provide regular progress reports to senior management and clients.
- Ensure all relevant project data is recorded and accessible.
