Summary: The M&E Project Manager will focus on design work, including surveys, designs, drawings, and specifications for various projects, while collaborating with the design team. The role requires significant site-based experience in the construction, M&E, or power sectors, and the ability to represent the company effectively. Key responsibilities include managing day-to-day operations on construction sites, ensuring compliance with health and safety standards, and maintaining strong relationships with clients and contractors. The ideal candidate will possess relevant certifications and experience in project management within industrial environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Take full responsibility for day-to-day operations on construction sites, ensuring all work is delivered to specification, on time, and within budget.
- Lead and manage the companies workers and subcontractor teams on-site.
- Act as the primary Health & Safety authority on site, upholding the companies procedures and enforcing safe working practices at all times.
- Proactively manage site issues, reporting significant risks or delays to the Project Manager or Technical Director.
- Build strong working relationships with clients, contractors, and internal teams to ensure smooth project delivery.
- Plan works with the Projects team and report progress to relevant stakeholders.
- Attend occasional meetings at Head Office such as project handovers and team briefings.
- Represent the business in a professional manner and promote a culture of safety and excellence on every site.
- Perform pre-start checks and post-completion inspections to ensure all works meet the companies quality standards.
Key Skills:
- Proven experience as a Project Engineer/Project Manager in construction or industrial M&E environments.
- SMSTS certification (essential).
- Strong working knowledge of ISO standards and health & safety legislation.
- Confidence managing subcontractors, enforcing RAMS, and acting as site lead.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and project documentation.
- Excellent communication skills with a strong client-facing manner.
- Strong IT skills and willingness to use internal systems (ERP, SharePoint, etc.).
- Desirable: Experience in construction based M&E projects.
