M&A Project Manager
Whitehall Resources require an M&A Project Manager to work with a key client on an initial 6-month contract.
*Outside IR35.
*This role will require 1-2 days on site in London per week.
M&A Project Manager
Overview:
The Technical Project Manager M&A Delivery will work very closely with the Global M&A team and all Group Technology partners to coordinate & oversee delivery of a complex divestiture. You will be accountable for the delivery of complex programmes, projects, products, and services that are delivered by multiple teams often with have high technical or operational risk. This role will support the Group Tech CIO and leadership team as well as the Global M&A team in all technology delivery to achieve the project outcomes needed.
Key Responsibilities:
* Drive delivery of technology elements of divestiture project including complex and commercially sensitive areas
* Very strong stakeholder management skills including at the most senior level within business
* Manage implementation of Group Technology portfolio of enterprise tech, business tech and infrastructure projects
* Manage the development and maintenance of Technology business cases, plans, status reports, CRAID logs for all Projects
* Manage dependencies of varying complexity, potentially planning, and feeding into larger programmes and sub-portfolios
* Remove blockers and manage risks, divisional budgets, and SME delivery teams
* Balance divisional objectives and can redeploy delivery teams and resources as portfolio priorities change
* Ability to develop detailed Technology Business Cases to support individual Projects
* Have got a good knowledge of Agile and Waterfall methodologies
* Be responsible for understanding, coordinating, and communicating to complex stakeholder groups, balancing priorities
* Acts as the driving force to continuously improve the ways of working
* Establish metrics and success criteria for each of the portfolio of Projects
* Coach to ensure the success of critical, initial events, Project Governance & delivery methodology
* Measure and communicate on the changes and the progress of the Project delivery teams and benchmark the Projects progress.
* Establish and facilitate relentless improvement by working closely with Transformation team and functions to handle impediments in a timely manner.

Capabilities & Experience
General Experience:
* Acquisitions and Divestitures delivery. You have delivered complex contractual technical projects including acquisitions and divestitures. You have experience of working with external & senior stakeholders through TSA periods and other similar arrangements.
* Technical expertise in infrastructure & enterprise business systems through delivery during divestiture
* Planning. You know how to lead a continual planning process in a very complex environment. You can plan beyond product delivery. You can identify dependencies in plans across services and coordinate delivery. You know how to coach other teams as the central point of expertise.
* Agile and Lean practices. You know how to coach and lead teams in Agile and Lean practices. You recognise and advocate these approaches, continuously reflecting and challenging the team. You can create or tailor new ways of working; you are always innovating.
* Commercial management. You can act as the escalation point and resolve large or high-risk commercial management issues associated with the Portfolio. You know how to coach others in appropriate commercial management.
* Communication and Management skills. You can mediate between people and mend relationships, communicating with stakeholders at all levels. You can manage stakeholder expectations and facilitate discussions about high risk and complexity even within constrained timescales. You can speak and represent the divisional community to large audiences inside and outside of governance.
* Community collaboration. You know how to solve and unblock delivery issues between teams or departments at the highest level. You understand the psychology of the divisional team and have strong mediation skills. You can coach the organisation on team dynamics and conflict resolution while also building and growing the community.
* Financial management. You know how to influence or create budgets that are complex (this could be across an organisation, programme or product view). You can manage the budget you are given and make it work.
* Maintaining delivery momentum. You know how to optimise the delivery flow of teams. You actively address the most complicated risks, issues and dependencies including where ownership exists outside the team or no clear ownership exists. You can identify innovative ways to unblock issues.
* Making a process work. You can identify and challenge organisational processes of increasing complexity and those processes that are unnecessarily complicated. You can add value and can coach the organisation to inspect and adapt processes. You know how to guide teams through the implementation of a new process.
Managerial Experience:
* Experienced relationship manager with senior stakeholders across the organisation.
* Proven track record of leading and motivating teams.
* Experience of building and nurturing a small team.
Professional Qualifications
* PMP or PRINCE2.
* Good to have: SAFe, e.g.SPC, or other Agile framework certifications.
Skills (Expertise needed to perform the key responsibilities)
* Strong experience delivering merger, acquisition and divestiture technical projects including business systems and infrastructure solutions in a global enterprise environment at scale
* Adept at influencing stakeholders and championing ideas in an environment where uncertainty around change will exist at all levels in the organisation.
* Excellent skills and experience in stakeholder management and collaboration.
* Knowledge of Lean and Agile principles and practices.
* Advanced skill in mentoring, coaching, listening, and providing feedback.
* Strong relationship management skills, including partnering and consulting with stakeholders.
* Demonstrates servant leadership.
* Comfort with ambiguity and uncertainty.
