Summary: The Low Voltage Energy Management Engineer role involves supporting premium vehicle programs within a leading automotive manufacturer, focusing on the development, integration, and validation of vehicle Low Voltage Systems. The position requires collaboration across various engineering teams and managing hardware and software configurations. Candidates should possess a strong understanding of vehicle Low Voltage Systems and relevant engineering principles. This is a four-month contract with the possibility of extension, based in Crewe with a hybrid working arrangement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, integrate, validate and sign off Low Voltage Systems across vehicle programmes
  • Manage hardware and software configuration including circuit diagram approval
  • Support ECU networking and communications including CAN, FlexRay and LIN
  • Deliver functional safety documentation and Golden Rules compliance
  • Validate Low Voltage Energy Management software and calibration
  • Work cross functionally across Electrical and Electronics Whole Vehicle Body Trim and Motion Engineering teams
  • Coordinate suppliers and liaise with wider group engineering teams
  • Support part introductions, technical changes and system releases

Key Skills:

  • Strong understanding of vehicle Low Voltage Systems including starter motors, alternators, DC-DC converters and 12V battery technologies
  • Knowledge of energy management strategies and battery charging standards (SAE, DIN, EA)
  • Understanding of 12V high power systems, fusing, cable sizing and in-circuit resistance
  • Experience with CAN, FlexRay and LIN networks
  • Experience with Vector tools (CANape, CANoe, CANalyser, INCA)
  • Experience using diagnostic tools such as ODIS or IDEX
  • Understanding of Functional Safety and systems engineering principles
  • Electronic fault finding and root cause analysis capability
  • Engineering degree
  • High Voltage training desirable
  • German language skills advantageous

Salary (Rate): £38.49 hourly

PAYE: £33.15 per

LTD: £38.49

35 hours per week
